GeoHazards: Volcanic Eruptions: Santa Ana
Santa Ana Volcano is located in the Apaneca Volcanic Field in El Salvador,Central America. It is one the six active volcanoes monitor by the Servicios Nacionales de Estudios Territoriales (SNET) in El Salvador, out of twenty that are considered active in this small country by Smithsonian definition. The Santa Ana Volcano is surrounded by rural communities in its proximal areas and in its close distal areas by the second and third largest cities of the country.
