GeoHazards: End User Products

An objective of the researchers is to provide data on potentially dangerous mass flows toa varaiety of end users including: civil protection organizations, government officials, and the general public. To this end several hazard maps have been constructed for volcanoes in Mexico (Colima, Popocatepetl, and Citlaltepetl). Studies have been made of disastrous flows at Casita, Nicaragua and Panabaj, Guatemala. Active studies for forecasting inundation have also been made at Tungurahua, Ecuador, El Misti, Peru, and Ruapehu, New Zealand.

Tanker destroyed in Waterman Canyon, California, following mudflows related to wildfires in the San Bernardino Mountains. Computer model of probably flow depth for future pyroclastic flows at Colima Volcano, Mexico, that can be used for hazard assessment.
